Signage Struggle

The one obstacle I have for the Campus Signage Project is creating the redesigned sign on the computer. I am not a very "techy" person, meaning I rarely use design software or websites. I feel confident and excited about the redesign I've created, but I'm having a hard time implementing those ideas onto an electronic document. I don't consider myself a perfectionist, but I always strive to communicate my ideas as I best I can whenever I write papers, or in this instance with creating my sign. I don't ever want to submit or display something I've made which doesn't make me feel somewhat proud or excited. If I can't create my design with online software, I know my backup plan. I don't want to waste too much time messing with designing a sign that isn't working; in other words I mean I don't want to fight a losing battle. Thus, I will have to draw my sign on paper. Although I'll make it look the best I can, I know a hand-drawn sign will have a very different effect than the one I desire to create online. Regardless, this project has both 1) proved to me that I need to become more aware of online design resources and features in this technology-driven world and 2) caused me to pay more attention to signs and how well or poorly they display their intended information and/or messages.
